Welcome to the official website of the Saskatchewan River First Nation Band Inc. Our First Nation Band is the only Non-Status Indian Band in Canada. Incorporated on December 1, 1998, to represent the Non-Status Indians of Manitoba, it has now become the beacon, for Non-Status"Indian", rights across Canada! In the decade since the Band was formed and incorporated, it (Band), has succesfully defended the "Indian", rights of it's Indian ancestry Band members. These "Indian rights", under Section 13 of the Natural Resources Transfer Act of 1930, have been upheld in Manitoba's courts of law. These "Indian ancestry rights" include: hunting, fishing and gathering, under Canadian and provincial laws. In addition, the ancestry Indian Band Members of the said Band, exercise their International "Indian Ancestry Rights", under Section 289 United States Immigration and Nationality Act. Due to the success of the Band defending their Indian Ancestry Band member's "Indian Rights,"the said Band has evolved into an legal Non-Indian Act-Ancestry Indian Band. As a Indian Ancestry Band the said Band also falls under the International "Jay Treaty." It is our pleasure to educate "you", the viewer on the "Indian Ancestry Rights" of our Band Members.
